Vascular Surgery
Vascular surgery is a field with a history of more than 60 years. The company VUP Medical, a.s. (formerly Research Institute of Knitting) was at its birth. Thanks to our research and development activities, we contributed to the introduction of the first knitted vascular prostheses and thus made a major contribution to the development of vascular surgery.
Even today, our products meet the most demanding requirements of vascular surgery. We bring effective solutions that help improve the quality of life of patients in the long term.
Products
We provide a wide range of modern knitted vascular prostheses and vascular patches. They are designed and manufactured for surgical reconstruction in the treatment of aneurysms and arterial blockages.
What are we helping to cure?
One of the most common diseases surgically treated with vascular prostheses is abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA). An abdominal aortic aneurysm is an enlarged space occurring at the lower part of the aorta, mostly caused by the weakened aorta wall. Because the aorta is the body’s main blood supplier, a ruptured abdominal aortic aneurysm can cause life-threatening bleeding.
